In a congratulatory letter to the Raritan Carrier, the Postmaster General of the United States Patrick R. Donahoe wrote to Ms. Mix: “I want to commend your selfless display of civic duty. You deserve the highest level of admiration for coming to the aid of a woman whom you found slumped over the steering wheel of her car. When you called out to her, opened the car door, and found her unresponsive, you called emergency personnel. Thank yo for staying with her until help arrived. Because of your attentiveness, this situation has a positive outcome. I am proud of your actions during this emergency.“ Ms. Mix’s efforts illustrate how postal employees make a difference in the communities where they work and live. Each year, postal employees go beyond the call of duty to save the lives of the customers they serve. In 2013, the Postal Service recognized 262 employee heroes. |
