Cresskill NJ – Haworth Daisy Girl Scout Leader Dorothy Klain recently brought seventeen Daisies from Troop 96043 and several moms as chaperones on a visit to the Cresskill NJ Post Office.  The Daises learned about Love stamps, mailing their Valentine’s cards, and were treated to a guided tour of the 5,600 square foot facility from Acting Postmaster Denise Greco.

“They were full of questions, and I explained to the girls what happens to the mail from the time it is delivered to our platform to the time it is put into our customer’s mail box,” said Ms. Greco.  “We also explained about what happens at the window services, and how mail gets to different parts of the country,” she added.

“The girls had Valentine’s Day cards for their secret Valentine, that they purchased stamps for and applied the stamp to the envelope, then each girl put their card into the lobby drop,” concluded the Cresskill Acting Postmaster.

The field trip and sending the Valentine’s cards with Love stamps was designed to help the Daisies learn how to be considerate and caring.  The special Post Office visit made the Daisies eligible to earn a special bright green petal- shaped patch from their leaders to apply to their Daisy Girl Scout vests.
