New Brunswick, NJ – With postal operations temporarily relocated from the Post Office at 86 Bayard Street today because of yesterday’s underground transformer fire, customers in the area can do business at the nearby 333 Handy Street Post Office. The Post Office at 86 Bayard Street will be reopening on Wednesday morning. In addition to doing business at the nearby Handy Street Post Office, customers have several other innovative service options when it comes to buying stamps and shipping packages.
With more than 60,000 participating locations across the country, the two Walgreens in New Brunswick at 1 Robert Wood Johnson Place and 20 Jersey Avenue sell stamps at face value as part of the Postal Service’s Stamps-to-Go program.
Another convenient expanded access service option is the Postal Service’s USPS.com website. It’s like a Post Office at your fingertips. Customers can purchase stamps, print mailing labels with postage, ship packages, order shipping supplies, file a change of address, and schedule a carrier pick-up for the next business day.
Customers can also do more now than ever before with USPS.com on their phones. With the Postal Service’s mobile app, tech savvy customers have round-the-clock expanded access to postal products, services, and information anywhere from their computer, tablet or smartphone. In 2014, the Postal Service’s app was downloaded 1.7 million times across all platforms.
Any questions about service in the New Brunswick area can be directed to the USPS Northern NJ District Consumer & Industry Contact office at 732-819-3260 or the toll free USPS Customer Care Center at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777).
