The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is the federal law enforcement, security and crime prevention arm of the United States Postal Service that protects the U.S. Postal Service, secures the nation’s mail system and ensures public trust in the mail. During National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) March 1-7, federal, state, and local consumer protection agencies — together with consumer organizations and industry associations — participate in consumer protection and education efforts around the country. This year, the Postal Service and the Postal Inspection Service are partnering to educate consumers about foreign lottery and sweepstakes scams, investment fraud, and other financial crimes that target American citizens. |
