Postal Officials Hiring 125 Carrier Assistants in Northern New Jersey

Northern NJ - Postal officials are hiring 125 City Carrier Assistants to work at various postal facilities in Northern New Jersey.  Online applications are being accepted March 21 - March 26.  To apply, just click on the word Careers on the bottom left hand side of the USPS.com homepage.  Before applying, check out the application guide, FAQs, and the informative video on being a City Carrier Assistant.

City Carrier Assistants perform all the duties normally done by a city letter carrier and may lead to a career position. They must work outdoors in all kinds of weather; have a current valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record. Salary and limited benefits include $16.06 an hour to start, paid vacation days and eligibility for health care benefits.

A written exam is required. Instructions regarding the exam process will be sent via email once a candidate successfully submits an online application.

Approved applicants will be required to pass all pre-employment suitability factors including, but not limited to: Employment history background check; military history; criminal conviction history; drug screening, personal interview and if selected, medical suitability. 

Applicants must also be a U. S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident alien, or a citizen of a territory owing allegiance to the United States.
