LINDEN, NJ — The Postal Service’s lease for the Station A Post Office, 340 West Saint George Avenue in Linden expires at the end of May. At the close of business on Friday, May 25, customer service and Post Office Box operations will be transferred from the Station A Post Office to the Linden Main Post Office, 400 North Wood Avenue.
Mail delivery to all street addresses remains unaffected. Starting, Saturday, May 26, Station A Post Office Box customers can pick-up their mail at the Linden Main Post Office during regular lobby hours: Monday – Friday 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday hours are 6 a.m. – 4 p.m. Station A Post Office Box customers should pick-up their new keys Monday, May 21 through Friday, May 25 at Station A. Beginning May 26, keys will available at the Linden Main Post Office.
Postal officials are looking for alternate quarters to replace the Station A Post Office and will schedule a public meeting to discuss the alternatives. Questions about the move or mail services in Linden can be directed to Postmaster Chiquita Jones-Swearingen at 908-925-8836.
In addition to the Post Offices in Linden, stamp booklets are available at face value through agreement with the Postal Service at the following local participating retailers: CVS at 300 Wood Avenue, Walgreens at 22 East Saint George Avenue, Staples at 653 West Edgar Road, BJ’S at 1001 East Edgar Road, and Wal–Mart at 1601 East Edgar Road.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
