March 05, 2012

ANTHONY, NM — The Anthony Post Office is hosting a Passport Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications.

The Postal Service is joining the U.S. Department of State in celebrating “Passport Day in the USA,” a national passport acceptance and outreach event.

The Anthony Post Office is located at 1190 Anthony Dr., Anthony, NM 88021.

“We are happy to leverage the convenience of the Postal Service and partner with the Department of State to help our customers apply for passports,” said Anthony Postmaster Paul Pantoja.

Application forms, information on the costs and how to apply for a passport book and/or passport card can be found at usps.com/passportor travel.state.gov/passport. U.S. citizens also may obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-(877) 487-2778.

In 2011, the Postal Service accepted more than 5.7 million passport applications at more than 6,000 retail locations across the country. Most of the locations also offer passport photo services at a price of $15.

Once you have a passport, you'll need a safe way to carry it – USPS Passport Wallets. These fashionable wallets, available in black or brown leather, retail for just $17.99 and let you carry everything important in one place – your passport, cash, another ID, and up to seven credit cards.  The wallets are available at passport acceptance offices and at usps.com/shop.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
