ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Following an Aug. 10, 2017 community meeting and review of all public feedback, the U.S. Postal Service has decided to proceed with relocating its Post Office Express location, formerly at 4016 Louisiana Blvd. NE, Suite A, to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the that location.
In 2016, the U.S. Postal Service’s lease expired on the former location and the landlord declined to renew. Therefore, the Postal Service must find a new location. The Postal Service’s goal is to select a new customer service location as close to the current site as possible. Sites will only be considered that are convenient and otherwise suitable for customers and that will meet all postal operational needs.
The Postal Service intends to offer the same services at the new location as were offered at the previous one. The Postal Service will continue to offer services at its other Albuquerque locations as the search for the new location moves forward.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
