Post Offices Open, Mail Delivered on July 3rd

Retail windows will close at noon, the last mailbox collection will be noon at the Post Office

White Plains, NY — All Westchester District Post Offices (ZIP Codes 105-109, 124-127) will be open Friday, July 3, however, retail windows will close at noon (Post Office Box mail will be available on a Saturday schedule) except for the Palisades Postal Store, 3301 Palisades Center Drive West Nyack, NY 10994 (located in the Palisades Mall) which will be open until 8 p.m. In addition, if a Post Office normally closes earlier than noon on Saturday that will be the time they close on Friday, July 3. Regular mail delivery for this day will be unaffected by the change. The Postal Service will be running modified collections. The latest blue mailbox collection location, in your town will be at your local Post Office at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 3, 2009.

Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office and commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for July 3 hours of operation. Customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS for information about specific Post Offices. Customers requiring postal services later that day are encouraged to contact their local postmaster.

Post Offices will be closed Saturday, July 4, except for the Palisades Postal Store which will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no regular mail delivery except for Express Mail.

All Post Offices will be open and regular mail delivery will resume Monday, July 6.

Automated Postal Centers (APCs) are available at the following Post Office locations - seven days a week, 24 24 hours a day: Hartsdale, Hopewell Junction, Larchmont, Monsey, Mt. Kisco, Nanuet, New City, Poughkeepsie South Road Post Office, Rye, Yonkers (East Station), Yorktown Heights, Wappingers Falls, White Plains.

APCs handle most all transactions customers can conduct in a Post Office using a credit or debit card and are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for added customer convenience. Packages can be mailed regardless of Post Office hours using these self-service kiosks, located in thousands of Post Office lobbies across the country. APCs are as easy to use as an ATM, but without the fees. Many APCs let customers conduct business in Spanish.
