New York City Area Post Offices to Observe Labor Day

24/7 Automated Postal Centers (APC’S) Available at three PO’s

New York, NY — The Postal Service observes, Monday, September 7th, Labor Day as a holiday. All Post Offices in Manhattan and the Bronx (ZIP Code areas 100-101-104) will be closed. There will be no regular mail delivery, except for Express Mail. All Post Offices will resume normal service on Tuesday, September 8th

On Saturday, September 5th, Post Offices without PO Box Service will be closed. Post Offices that offer PO Box Service will close at 1:00 p.m. Postal Lobbies with Automated Postal Centers (APC’s) will remain open until 4:00 p.m.

Except for the following Post Offices which offer APC service 24 hours and 7 day access:

Franklin D. Roosevelt Station
909 3rd Ave
New York, NY 10022 

The Church Street, James A. Farley Post Offices and Franklin D. Roosevelt all offer 24-hour access to Automated Postal Centers (APC’s), the Postal Service’s version of the ATM. The APC enables customers to conduct business at their convenience.

Using credit and debit cards, the APC enables customers to:

  • Buy self-adhesive stamps.
  • Weigh, calculate and purchase postage in amounts for items weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Send items via Express, Priority, and First-Class Mail, as well as by Parcel Post.
  • Purchase Insurance up to $500.
  • Look up ZIP Codes and obtain Postal Service mailing information.
  • Obtain Certified Mail, Delivery Confirmation and Return Receipts.
  • Obtain a receipt.

Postal customers are encouraged to visit www.usps.com or call 1-800-ASK-USPS for information about specific Post Office hours over the holiday weekend.
