NEW YORK, NY — Postal officials are excited to announce the expansion of service hours at the Automated Postal Center (APC) located in the Grand Central Station Post Office. Grand Central joins three other APC locations in Manhattan that have recently added Sunday service hours.
The APC in Grand Central Station will be open to serve customers on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mailers, shoppers and shippers can enjoy extra hours to ship when they visit this Post Office and with the holidays right around the corner, having an extra day to ship is sure to add customer convenience.
“Automated Postal Centers provide easy access to postal products and services just as ATMs provide easy access to banking services,” said Raschelle Parker, manager of Marketing for New York District. “To customers, one is a self-service bank, while the other is a self-service Post Office. Unlike many ATMs, APCs don’t add transaction fees. Beyond expanding customer access, the APC enables our customers to conduct business with us at their convenience, even on a Sunday!”
Grand Central Station will offer the following APC hours of operation:

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
