Postal officials expanding services at Stewart Station Post Office

July 24, 2012

Newburgh, NY In an effort to accommodate customers, Postmaster Robert Dini is announcing the expansion of services at the Stewart Station Post Office at 97 Enterprise Drive at Stewart International Airport in the Town of Newburgh. On August 4, the Stewart Station Post Office retail unit will begin opening on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Retail business hours remain 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday with 24/7 access to the Post Office Box lobby. Bulk mail acceptance hours for commercial mailers are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

The Newburgh Postmaster also emphasizes the Stewart Station Post Office is part of the Postal Service’s new plan to expand services for Post Office Box customers at select locations across the country. Stewart Station Post Office Box holders can now also take advantage of the following new features:

Street Addressing—Use the street address of the Stewart Station Post Office location for your Post Office Box and benefit from the credibility of a street address. If you sign up for this feature, we will accept packages from private carriers that do not normally deliver to a Post Office Box. This service is especially important for small businesses because you can now use a street address—not just a Post Office Box number. Both Street Addressed mail and Post Office Box addressed mail can now be delivered to your Post Office Box.

Real Mail Notification Services—Receive an email or text message each day you receive new mail in your PO Box, Monday through Saturday. You will receive this notification only if you have mail.

Signature on File—Provide us with your signature and we’ll keep it on file. We’ll accept some signature-required mail and packages for you, which you can access at your convenience.

Postmaster Dini says the 24/7 access and the newly offered features make Post Office Boxes an even greater value.

The Stewart Station Post Office on Enterprise Drive at Stewart International Airport is located in the Town of Newburgh, minutes from Route 84 Exit 6 and just off 17K and Governor Drive.
