BROOKLYN, NY – Customers expecting holiday gifts through the mail can rest a little easier knowing the U.S. Postal Service is opening their doors on Sunday at select post offices for package pickup.
To make the holiday season a little more manageable for customers the post office is recommending to anyone who may have ‘missed’ their Mail Carrier during an attempted delivery – and instead received a form PS-3849-Reminder Notice (Attempted Delivery Notice) – to take advantage of picking up their packages on Sunday, December 22nd , between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm.
Please note Sunday hours only apply for package pickup at the service door inside the post office lobby. Retail counter services remain their usual business days and hours.
This Sunday, Dec 22 add picking up holiday packages from the post office to your regular Sunday morning routine – like picking up fresh baked rolls from the local bakery or those warm buns and hot ‘cup of joe’ from a favorite coffee shop.
Post offices in the following communities will be open for Sunday Package Pickup.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation: 152 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With more than 31,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $65 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world's mail. If it were a private-sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500. The Postal Service has been named the Most Trusted Government Agency for seven years and the fourth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute.
