Background:

The Global Forever stamp is America’s first international forever stamp, offering a single price for any First-Class Mail International 1-ounce letter to any country in the world. The Global Forever stamp may also be used to mail a 2-ounce letter to Canada.

As with all Forever stamps, the value of the Global Forever stamp will be equivalent to the price in effect at the time of mailing. To distinguish this stamp from other Forever stamps, the shape of the international stamp is round and bears the words, “Global Forever USA 2013.”

The Global Forever stamps are being issued in self-adhesive panes of 20 at the $1.10 rate, or $22.00 per pane. The stamps went will be available at www.usps.com/shop, 800-STAMP24 and the nation’s Post Offices beginning Saturday August 18.

The 11:00 a.m. ET special dedication ceremony is free and open to the public.
Retail, philatelic sales and cancelations will be available.
