NEW YORK, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily suspend mail collection from blue collection boxes in time for NYC’s planned events to celebrate the Super Bowl weekend. Additionally, collection boxes in the immediate vicinity of Times Square will be removed.
The public can expect collection boxes to be sealed from Tuesday, January 28, 2014 through Sunday, February 2, 2014.
These NYC events are going to take place in an area that has been coined as “Super Bowl Boulevard” in Manhattan from Wednesday, January 29, 2014 through Saturday, February 1, 2014.
Mailboxes from Broadway and West 33rd Street through West 48th Street will be sealed.
The following collection mailboxes will be temporarily removed and out of service between January 28 and February 2, 2014:
