LONG ISLAND CITY, NY —The Plaza Finance Station will suspend operations effective August 25, 2014.  This comes as a follow up to a May, 2014 announcement stating the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) would be vacating the premises of the present Plaza Finance Station, 2418 Queens Plaza South, LIC, NY 11101. Postal officials are acting upon a request received from the building owner stating that they wish to reclaim the space leased by the USPS.

Mail delivery to the community will not be affected and will continue as usual. Customers who are presently renting a Post Office Box at the Plaza Station are being directed to retrieve their mail at the Long Island City Main Post Office, 4602 21st Street, LIC, NY 11101.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
