Greater Hudson Valley, NY – With a major snowstorm creating challenging conditions later today, Westchester District postal officials are announcing adjustments to service throughout the Hudson Valley. In the interest of public and employee safety, Westchester letter carriers are expected to be off the road and all Westchester District Post Offices are closing at 3:00 p.m. Customers should deposit mail into collection boxes by 1 p.m. for those blue street collection boxes that are normally hit at 5 p.m.

Westchester District postal officials are also asking for the public’s cooperation in keeping walkways, sidewalks, and approaches to mailboxes clear of snow and ice so letter carriers can safely affect mail delivery. The USPS Westchester District encompasses postal facilities in communities throughout the Greater Hudson Valley whose ZIP Code begins with 105–109, and 124-127.

Customers with questions or comments about their mail service can call toll-free 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) or send an e-mail to the Postal Service by clicking on Customer Service at the bottom of the Postal Service’s USPS.com homepage.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
