NEW YORK CITY, NY – Truth be told, just as many businesses across America, the Postal Service preserves the tradition of honoring our nations Presidents by observing President’s Day as a federal holiday.

Although postal operations are limited on Presidents Day – customers have access to more than 70,000 retail businesses across the country that have partnered with USPS.  Postal partners sell stamps with some locations offering the full line of postal products and shipping services – most having extended hours outside of the regular post office. @ Postal Partner Locations customers will find nearby businesses where they can ship a package, buy stamps and so much more – even on Holidays when post offices are closed.

Additional USPS services available on the Holiday:

  • Priority Express Mail delivery
  •  Some package delivery
  • USPS Self Service Kiosks (SSK) – 6 locations in New York City are open on Presidents Day. (See attached list)
SSKs provide customers using a credit or debit card the ability to purchase stamps, send mail and parcels, and calculate weigh and postage, and so much more. Find nearby Self Service Kiosks.
  • USPS Postal Partners – Customers can visit local retail businesses that have partnered with the USPS.  Postal partners have received the USPS stamp of approval and can be found @ Postal Partner Locations.  Or call the USPS Customer Care Center at 1-800-275-8777 (800-ASK-USPS) to locate one where you live, work or shop.
  • Online Post Office – Customers can visit the USPS award winning website usps.com 24/7 for most products and services available at brick and mortar post offices and postal partner locations.

Yes it’s true – right from the comfort of your home, office or college computer or personal smartphone – buy stamps and gifts, calculate postage and ship packages, as well as other transactions including pay for postage and Post Office Box services, and with another click request a package pick up or redelivery.

Extensive postal information is always available at usps.com.
