CLARYVILLE, NY — Postal Service officials are considering the relocation of the Claryville Post Office to a yet-to-be-determined new location within the 12725 ZIP Code area. Postal officials are requesting the opportunity to present the relocation proposal at a Denning Town Board Meeting in June.

The proposed project will consist of identifying a suitable location, preparing the new space for use as a Post Office, and transitioning the retail services to the new Post Office. The Claryville Post Office is currently under an emergency suspension with retail services being provided at the nearby Grahamsville Post Office.

The process for relocating a retail services Post Office is designed to maximize community input. By law - Title 39 CFR 241.4, the process includes: notifying the community, presentation of the plans by a postal official at a public meeting, soliciting written input, and announcements to the media.
