NEW YORK CITY — On Monday, May 25, 2015 Post Offices in New York City and nationwide will join millions throughout the United States in honoring the memory of those who died while serving in the country's armed forces.
To accommodate customers using USPS expedited services, Priority Express Mail will be processed and delivered along with limited package service. Post Offices will resume full mail delivery and retail services on Tuesday, May 26.
Customers looking to conduct postal business on the Holiday can visit conveniently located Approved Postal Partners. These are retail businesses who have partnered with the U.S. Postal Service, offering extended business hours outside of regular post office operating times. In addition to selling stamps many offer the full suite of USPS package services.
Postal officials are encouraging customers to still drop their mail in blue street collection boxes, so mail can be processed starting early morning the following day, on Tuesday, May 26. This also applies to business customers, many who will be open during the Holiday. This will give the USPS a quick start on processing the mail.
For added customer convenience 365 days a year, Self Service Kiosks (SSK) (aka Automated Postal Centers-APC’s) are available at the following NYC and Western Long Island locations providing 24-hour access to many postal products and services.
