Felts Mills NY – On Friday, October 30, it was back to business as usual for the customers of the Felts Mills Post Office as the doors swung open following several months of repair.

The Felts Mills Post Office is located at 24456 State Route 3 in Felts Mills.

An accident in May where a motor vehicle slammed into the building forced the closure of the Jefferson County community’s Post Office due to extensive damage to the front wall, adjacent sidewall and stairs leading to an upstairs apartment.  Electrical and gas services were also cut to that building.

Since the May 28 emergency shutdown, the Black River Post Office served approximately 90 post office box customers impacted after the Postal Service made a decision to temporarily relocate post services pending reconstruction at the Felts Mills location.

Rural delivery customers from Felts Mills continued to receive mail without interruption during the repair period.   But, now, these customers can visit the Felts Mills Post Office for pickup of oversized or signature-required items.

Felts Mills customers can visit that office, again, during regular business hours on weekdays from 8 am until noon.   Saturday hours are from 8 am until 10:30 am. 

Postal customers will also find stamps available, at no added charge, at nearby locations such as Wal-Marts, Kinney Drugs, Walgreens and Price Chopper.
