Richford NY – In a letter addressed to the Richford Town Board, postal officials have requested time to make a presentation at their December meeting to discuss relocating the retail services for the Richford Post Office.
In a letter to Richford Town Supervisor Martin Wilcox, the Postal Service indicated that its public presentation would present the possible relocation project to the community, invite questions, and solicit written input for 30 days following the presentation.
After the 30-day period, the Postal Service will consider all comments and will make a final decision to proceed with, modify, or cancel the proposal.
The Postal Service space requirement for a new facility in Richford is 700 square feet.
The letter from the Postal Service to the town is posted at the Richford Village Post Office, 13334 State Route 38, in Richford.
Services at the Richford Post Office, previously located at 13299 State Route 38, were suspended in October 2013. There was no change of street delivery for customers of the Richford Post Office except for the pickup of oversized or signature-required items at the Berkshire Post Office.
Forever stamps and Priority Mail envelopes are now offered at the Richford Village Post Office,. Postal customers will also find stamps available, at no added charge, at nearby locations such as Kinney Drugs, Wal-Mart Super Center or Price Chopper.
