NEW YORK, NY – New York Commuters are experiencing the ease and convenience of having USPS mail services outside of Penn Station.
Manhattan Postmaster Kevin Crocilla has stepped up service to meet customer needs during their daily commute. “The mobile unit is situated in front of Penn Station at the entrance on 7th Avenue near West 31st Street. It is open for business from 7:00AM to 1:00PM daily Monday to Friday (up until Dec 22nd). We are currently providing stamp sales and great gift items that will make terrific stocking stuffers. Debit/credit or cash are now being accepted.”
The Postmaster looks forward to making the holiday season a little bit easier and more convenient for commuters and said, “Come say Hi to our friendly sales assistant Hilda!”
The mobile unit is also a mail drop off site where customers can deposit outgoing packages, cards, letters and other prepaid mail.
The Postal Service is expecting a record breaking volume of packages, cards and letters this holiday season, exceeding 16 billion pieces.
The Postmaster wants to remind mailers that by dropping off packages and purchasing stamps and gift items along their commuter route helps with avoiding one less line during the holiday hustle. Packages and other mail collected at commuter terminals will advance for processing earlier and receive swift handling.
Also making the holiday season more manageable, the USPS offers customers these convenient shipping options:
- Find the perfect mailing services and products at your fingertips from any computer or smartphone
- Obtain free holiday shipping boxes – in many shapes and sizes – from the full suite of Flat Rate Priority Mail or Priority Express Mail supplies by ordering online at the Postal Store, (usps.com/store), by phone at 800-275-8777, or at a retail store and other locations offering USPS products and services
