A Made in America label carries a high level of prestige in markets around the globe. The White House Rural Council and the Postal Service are hosting 60 workshops in 24 states over the next few months for rural businesses to learn how to access new customers abroad and take advantage of international trade assistance.
If you’re a local entrepreneur looking to take advantage of today’s global economy, these seminars are just what you need! At these workshops, postmasters and other Postal Service international shipping experts will provide hands-on instruction in the use of online interactive tools on usps.com to help rural businesses expand internationally.
On Long Island, a Made in America workshop will be held on August 23, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 170 Main Street in Westhampton Beach.
According to Postal officials, the Postal Service offers products and services ideal for supporting any rural business’s growth into the world of international shipping including online Customs forms, International Express and Priority services, and many shipping supplies including mailing boxes provided at no cost.
Through the White House Rural Council and President’s “Made in Rural America” export and investment initiative, the USPS is working with other federal agencies to help rural businesses access new customers and markets abroad.
More than 95 percent of global consumers are outside the United States, and through advances in communication and technology, the global marketplace is more accessible than ever to small and rural businesses.
You can register for the free seminar at usps.com/westhamptonbeach.
