NYC Postal Officials Make Way for Tunnel to Towers Run/Walk

Collection Boxes Along Route Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal Postal Service’s collection boxes along the Tunnels to Towers Run/Walk route taking place on Sunday, September 25th in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be sealed, and in some cases removed, after the final scheduled collection of mail on Saturday, September 24. All impacted collection boxes will be reopened on Monday, September 26.

Route Impacting Collection Boxes for US Mail:

  1. Both Sides West Street - between Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and Liberty Street
  2. Both Sides Liberty Street - between West Street and Battery Park Esplanade
  3. Both Sides - Battery Park Esplanade - Liberty Street and Warren Street
  4. Both Sides Warren Street - between Battery Park Esplanade and West Street
  5. Both Sides West Street - between Warren Street and Vesey Street
  6. Both Sides Vesey Street - West Street and North End Avenue
For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or post offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
