New York, NY – Yes, you can apply for a passport on Sundays in New York City! The James A. Farley Building at 421 8th Avenue in Manhattan is open Sundays for passport processing. Stop by any Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and our passport processing retail associates will be happy to assist you at our one-stop passport shop.
Helpful tips for applying for a passport:
Bring proof of US citizenship (provide one of the following)
- Previous fully valid U.S. Passport
- Certified U.S. birth certificate
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
- Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship
- Proof of identity (Current, valid driver’s license – Government employee ID – Military ID)
Children
- Children under age 16, both parents are required to be present to issue a passport to a child. Exceptions may be found at http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html
Passport Photos
- Passport retail associates will be available to take the photographs for a fee.
You can also save time by downloading the application (DS-11), before you come to the post office – but please don’t sign it until a USPS passport retail associate can witness your signature.
