New York, NY — Postal officials will permanently remove two collection boxes on 5th Avenue - between 56th Street and 57th Street in New York City immediately to ensure the security of the mail.

Postal officials advise local customers to make plans to mail outgoing items at alternate postal locations listed under “Find USPS Locations” at usps.com. Additionally, mail can always be picked up by a letter carrier and customers can also schedule a pickup.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
