ROCHESTER AREA – Four Rochester area Post Offices are extending hours on Saturday, Dec. 10 & 17; one is open for business on Sunday, Dec. 11 & 18 to help customers get a jump on their holiday mailings.
On Saturday, Dec. 10 & 17, the following offices will be open until 4 p.m.
- Irondequoit Branch – 425 Ridge Road East
- Rochester Main Office – 1335 Jefferson Road
- Westgate Branch – 1485 Howard Road
- Webster Post Office - 75 Barrett Drive
In addition, the Rochester Main Post Office will be open on Sunday, Dec 11 & 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 19 is expected to be the busiest mailing day of the season with the Postal Service anticipating to process about 611 million letters, cards and packages nationwide. A close second busiest day will be Monday, Dec. 12.
“We’ve been in the holiday shipping business for centuries,” said Rochester Postmaster Terriann Burke. “We know our customers will use the weekend to bake, shop, and pack their treasured holiday gifts. Providing these extra Saturday and Sunday hours will give them some additional options for getting presents on their way.”
Customers looking for convenient ways to mail cards and packages can also take advantage of the availability of holiday stamps at over 200 Rochester area retailers, visit usps.com to purchase postage for packages and arrange free carrier pick-ups, or visit Self-Service Kiosks at 19 Rochester area Post Offices.
