USPS Secures Collection Boxes During Rockville Bishop Installation

MELVILLE, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove several Postal Service collection boxes on Long Island during the installation new bishop for the Diocese of Rockville Centre.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on the evening of Saturday, January 28th. Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Wednesday, February 1st.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  1. 1. North Village Avenue - between Hempstead Avenue and the south side of the LIRR tracks
  2. All of Osborne Place
  3. Clinton Avenue - between Hempstead Avenue and Front Street
  4. Quealy Place - between North Village Avenue and Clinton Avenue
  5. College Place – between  Clinton Avenue and North Park Avenue
  6. Front Street - between North Village Avenue and North Park Avenue
  7. South Station Plaza – between North Village Avenue and North Park Avenue

For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or post offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
