NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Friday, September 8, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on the evening of Friday, September 8.
Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Monday, September 11.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Both sides of 5th Avenue – between 40th Street and 69th Street
  • Both Sides of 43rd Street – between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue
  • Both Sides of 44th Street – between Broadway and Vanderbilt Avenue
  • Both Sides of 45th Street – between Broadway and Vanderbilt Avenue
  • Both Sides of 46th Street – between 7th Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue
  • Both Sides of 47th Street – between 7th Avenue and Madison Avenue
  • Both Sides of 50th Street – between 6th Avenue and Madison Avenue
  • Both Sides of 51st Street – between 6th Avenue and Madison Avenue
