NYC Collection Boxes in the Area Receive Temporary Seal / Removal

NEW YORK, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Saturday, October 7, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on Saturday, October 7.

Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Tuesday, October 10.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • All Boxes in the vicinity of the Staten Island Yankees Baseball Park
  • Both Sides of Richmond Terrace - between Stuyvesant Place and Bay Street
  • Both Sides of Bay Street – between Richmond Terrace and Fort Wadsworth Entrance/Exit Gate  (Including collection boxes located on the exterior of the St. George Post Office)
  • Both Sides of School Road – between Bay Street and Lily Pond Avenue
  • Both Sides of Lily Pond Avenue – between School Road and Father Capodanno Boulevard
  • Both Sides of Father Capodanno Boulevard – between Lily Pond Avenue and Greeley Avenue
  • Both Sides of Midland Beach Promenade (Boardwalk) – between Greeley Avenue and Seagate Court
  • Both Sides of Ionia Avenue – between Midland Beach Promenade (Boardwalk) and Father Capodanno Boulevard
  • Both Sides of McClean Avenue/Battery Road – between Lily Pond Avenue and USS Tennessee Road
  • Both Sides of USS Tennessee Road - between McClean Avenue/Battery Road and Ayres Road
  • Both Sides of Ayers Road -  between USS Tennessee Road and USS North Carolina Avenue
  • Both Sides of USS North Carolina Avenue -  between Ayers Road and Hudson Road
  • Both Sides of Hudson Road – between USS North Carolina Avenue and Mount Sec Avenue
  • Both Sides of Mount Sec Avenue – between Hudson Road and New York Avenue
  • Both Sides of New York Avenue – between Mount Sec Avenue and Fort Wadsworth Entrance/Exit Gate
  • Both Sides of Hylan Boulevard  – between Bay Street and Edgewater Street
  • Both Side of Edgewater Street - between Hylan Boulevard and Front Street
  • Both Sides of Front Street (AKA Murray Hulbert Avenue) - between Edgewater Street and Hannah Street
  • Both Sides of Hannah Street – between Front Street (AKA Murray Hulbert Avenue) and Bay Street
