Melville, NY — While most businesses will be celebrating Veteran’s Day on Friday, November 10, the Postal Service will be open for business as usual. Our carriers will be out delivering your mail and our retail clerks are available for your postage, shipping and passport needs.
There will be no mail delivery on Saturday, November 11, in honor of Veteran’s Day and post offices across the area will be closed. Normal Post office operations and delivery will resume on Monday, November 13.
As a reminder: If you’re shipping packages oversees to a loved one in the military for the holidays, First Class and Priority Mail for most APO/FPO addresses should be sent no later than December 11 to insure timely delivery. Priority Mail Express should be postmarked no later than December 16.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
