New York NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal the Postal Service’s collection boxes along the route for the 2018 Women’s March on New York City, occurring Saturday, Jan. 20 in New York City.
The familiar blue collection boxes will be sealed, and in some cases removed, after the final scheduled collection of mail on Friday, Jan. 19. All collection boxes will return to full service after the march on Jan. 20.
Postal officials advise local customers to make alternative plans to mail outgoing items at impacted locations during this time period including: Central Park West from West 59th Street through West 86th Street.
For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or Post Offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
