NORTHVILLE, NY — Are you daydreaming about travels to Ireland? Or how about a journey to India, Israel, Iceland or anywhere in between? If you have your eyes on travel, you may need to start with a passport.
The Northville Post Office is offering extended passport hours this Saturday to allow families extra time to get their passports ahead of peak travel season. Customers can visit the Post Office, located at 151 North Main Street, to apply for passports or even to speak to the Postmaster, who will be on hand to meet and greet customers.
Postmaster Robin Richards says that customers are required to bring their Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate, with a front and back photocopy; a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license and a photocopy of the front and back; a personal check or money order for the passport fee payment and a separate check for an execution fee and a passport photo, if needed. The execution fee can also be paid for with a debit or credit card.
The day for wearing the green is also a day for saving some green.
Postmaster Richards notes that the execution fee, now $25 and made payable to the Postal Service, will rise to $35 in April.
Passport photos are available at the Post Office for a $15 fee.
