NEW YORK, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Saturday, May 5, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on the evening of Saturday, May 5.  

Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Monday, May 7.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • Any Collection Boxes on the Fort Wadsworth property
  • Both Sides of Bay Street - between Fort Wadsworth and Hylan Boulevard
  • Both Sides of Hylan Boulevard – between Bay Street and Edgewater Street
  • Both Sides of Edgewater Street – between Hylan Boulevard and Front Street
  • Both Sides of Front Street – between Edgewater Street and Hannah Street
  • Both Sides of Hannah Street – between Front Street and Bay Street
  • Both Sides of Bay Street – between Hannah Street and Richmond Terrace
  • Any Collection Boxes outside of the St. George Post Office
  • Any Collection Boxes on the Staten Island Ferry Property
