
NEW YORK, NY – In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Friday, May 18, in New York City.
The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible after the final scheduled collection of mail on the evening of Friday, May 18.
Impacted collection boxes will be reopened on the morning of Monday, May 21.
US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:
- Both sides of Central Park North – between Malcolm X Boulevard and Central Park West
- Both sides of 110th Street– between Central Park West and Riverside Drive
- Both Sides of Riverside Drive – between 110th Street and 74th Street
- Both sides of 74th Street – between Riverside Drive and Central Park West
- Both sides of Central Park West – between 75th Street and 71st Street
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
