Postal Officials Sharing Valuable Tips For Keeping Mail Safe

GREATER HUDSON VALLEY, NY — This weekend postal managers will be in 24 Post Office lobbies throughout the Greater Hudson Valley from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. talking to customers, soliciting feedback, and sharing valuable tips for keeping mail safe.   

The 23 Post Offices hosting We’re Listening Weekend on Sat., Jun. 2 include:

  • Ardsley at 875 Saw Mill River Road
  • Arlington at 41 Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie
  • Dobbs Ferry at 120 Main Street
  • Elmsford at 2 East Main Street
  • Hartsdale at 441 Central Park Avenue
  • Hastings on Hudson at 591 West Warburton Avenue
  • Irvington at 25 North Buckhout Street
  • Kingston at 90 Cornell Street
  • Larchmont at 1 Chatsworth Avenue
  • Mamaroneck at 309 Mount Pleasant Avenue
  • Mount Vernon at 15 South 1st Avenue
  • New Rochelle at 255 North Avenue
  • Ossining at 100 Main Street
  • Poughkeepsie at 55 Mansion Street
  • Scarsdale at 29 Chase Road
  • Tappan at 57 Old Tappan Road
  • Tarrytown at 50 North Broadway
  • Valhalla at 10 Cleveland Street
  • White Plains at 100 Fisher Avenue
  • Yonkers Centuck at 1585 Central Park Avenue
  • Yonkers East at 915 Yonkers Avenue
  • Yonkers South at 335 South Broadway
  • Yonkers Main Post Office at 79-81 Main Street.

The Monsey Post Office’s We’re Listening Weekend event is on Sun., Jun. 3 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

To fight back against collection box crimes, postmasters are sharing the following tips:

  • Deposit mail into blue collection boxes before the final pick up of the same day of deposit.
  • Report glue, tapes or other sticky substances on the mailbox to your local Post Office and to Postal Inspectors right away.
  • Immediately report any suspicious activity at a mail receptacle to police.
  • Report mail theft, identity theft, fraud or other crimes involving the mail by calling the Postal Inspection Service   national hotline at 877-876-2455, and say “Theft.
