Wednesday Power Outage To Power Down Utica Post Office

UTICA, NY —Due to a scheduled power outage on November 14, the Utica Main Post Office will reduce service from 8 am to 5 pm on Wednesday only.  Postal officials report the following actions should be expected at the 100 Pitcher Street location for Wednesday only:

  • Post office box customers will receive full services in the lobby.
  • Only cash transactions for stamp sales will be possible, as package weighing and metering services will be suspended during the power outage. 
  • Passports, special services, money orders and PO Box renewals are among the services that wil not be available. 

Officials add that mail delivery and collection of mail from blue collection boxes, businesses and residences will not be impacted.

The Business Mail Acceptance Unit on Pitcher Street will not be available on Wednesday.

Regular services resume on Thursday.

Postal customers in need of services may consider other nearby options including Butterfield Station, 501 Seneca Street, from 9 am to 4:30 pm or Kernan Station, 1709 Genesee Street, from 9 am to noon and from 1pm to 5:30 pm.
