COLUMBUS – All Post Offices in the Columbus District, which covers central, southern and southeastern Ohio, will be open on Friday, December 24. However, all but two will shorten retail lobby hours and close at noon.
The Columbus Main Post Office at 850 Twin Rivers Drive (43216) and the Port Columbus Station by the Columbus Airport at 4299 Sawyer Rd. (43236) will remain open until 3:00 p.m. to accommodate last minute mailers and shippers.
Regular mail delivery for December 24 will be unaffected by the change.
Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office and commercial customers are asked to check with their Business Mail Entry Unit for December 24 hours of operation. In addition, mail should be deposited into blue collection mailboxes by noon for early pick-up on December 24. Customers requiring postal services later that day are encouraged to contact their local Postmaster.
Post Offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25. Sunday/Holiday Express Mail only will be delivered on December 25. All Post Offices will be open and regular mail delivery will resume Monday, December 27.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
