COLUMBUS — Firefighters responded to an after-hours fire at the Columbus Whitehall Branch Post Office, 82 Robinwood Avenue, Whitehall, Ohio 43213, at about 7:23 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Customer retail services performed at that location have been transferred to the USPS Whitehall postal retail outlet located at 3750 E. Broad Street in the Town and Country Shopping Center. Mail delivery is unaffected and continuing normally.

A small number of packages that were on hold for customer pickup at the Whitehall Branch Post Office suffered minor water and smoke damage from the fire. As soon as reasonably possible, those packages will be available for customer pickup at 3750 E. Broad Street. Whitehall customers concerned about packages that were on hold at the time of the fire should call Columbus Customer Relations Coordinator Susie Ruff at 614.429.4236.

The Whitehall Branch Post Office will remain closed pending an engineering evaluation.
