BACKGROUND |
Rudolph Forever® stamp “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” the nation’s longest-running and highest-rated Christmas television special recently received the USPS stamp of approval with the national release of a set of four Limited Edition Forever stamps depicting Rudolph, Hermey, Santa and Bumble created from still television frames from the special which premiered 50 years ago in 1964. A special dedication ceremony of the Rudolph stamp will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014, at the Rudolph Christian Church, 13868 Mermill Road, Rudolph, OH 43462. The annual Rudolph pictorial postmark will also be available from December 1 and through the 24th. The event is free and open to everyone. “Rudolph’s story of guiding Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve has been revered by families for five decades,” said Northern Ohio Manager of Post Office Operations Robert Pelasky. “We’re celebrating that milestone by having our fleet of 212,000 ‘sleighs’ deliver Rudolph and his friends on 500 million Forever stamps to nearly 153 million addresses this holiday season.” How to Get the Postmark Customers who want the special Rudolph pictorial postmark on their greeting cards need to do the following:

The Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Limited Edition Forever stamps will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
