BACKGROUND

On Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Akron Urban League (440 Vernon Odom Blvd, Akron, Ohio), the U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Akron-Canton Postal Customer Council are co-sponsoring a free community seminar on how to prevent being victimized by identity theft and mail fraud.

“Learn how to protect your identity and hear about recent trends in mail fraud that target Americans of all ages,” said Postal Inspector Terrence Sullivan. “The Postal Service and Postal Inspection Service want to ensure that the U.S. Mail is not used to victimize the American public.”

The event is free and open to the public.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
