OKLAHOMA CITY, OK The U.S. Postal Service recognized Comtech, headquartered in Oklahoma City, OK, with its Mail Innovation Award for the company’s support of the success of mail and its commitment to a successful business relationship with the Postal Service.

Comtech was one of 18 companies recognized last week by the Postal Service at the National Postal Forum (NPF), which, for more than 40 years, has been recognized as the premier educational trade show for the mailing industry.

“We are pleased to recognize and honor Comtech for its innovation, creativity and leadership,” said Jo Ann Feindt vice president, Southern Area, who nominated Comtech for the award. “By working closely with the Postal Service to develop strategic business solutions, Comtech has produced winning results, which supports the mailing industry.”

The Mailing Solutions Award, presented annually at NPF, recognizes Postal Service customers who have implemented innovative mailing solutions. Winning companies embrace new technologies and implement best practices to improve efficiency and productivity in mail operations. They provide customers with a mail product that delivers increased value, which benefits customers and the mailing industry.

The partnership between Comtech and the Postal Service has propelled Comtech to the cutting edge of full service print and direct mail. After visiting the USPS booth at a tradeshow, Comtech developed a direct mail campaign using Augmented Reality (AR) to promote the company’s ability to create integrated direct mail campaigns.  Comtech, in an effort to increase brand awareness and grow their business, used Layar, a global leader in augmented reality and interactive print technology, to create an AR mail piece, targeting a specific segment of their customer base. The intent of the mail piece was to allow their customers to “experience” the mail piece while promoting Comtech’s ability to create innovative, technology infused marketing promotions.

Comtech’s initial mailing of the Augmented Reality (AR) piece created a buzz among their targeted audience, the results of which have not been fully calculated at this time. However the initial positive feedback has prompted the company to move toward utilizing more advanced applications, such as Aurasma, to increase their presence in the Augmented Reality arena and take advantage of the USPS Emerging and Advanced Technology Promotion.  It took a combination of postal knowledge and innovative thinking to achieve this level of success in the industry.

Comtech, located in Oklahoma City, OK, started doing business as a direct mail house in 1999. Fast forward to 2015, the company has expanded their business to include offset printing, data mining services, mailing lists, variable data printing, apparel printing, promotional products, website design and fulfillment services. Recognized as a premier full-service print and direct mail firm, the company understands the importance of customer service and giving their clients the utmost professionalism that they deserve.  Comtech also understands that business relationships are crucial to long-term longevity and increased customer loyalty.  Comtech, for four years in a row, has been voted as one of Greater OKC Chamber Metro 50 fastest growing companies.
