OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — If you are still sharpening your pencil to work on federal or state taxes, your local Post Office is ready to help you meet that all important April 18 deadline.

Oklahoma City Metro area customers can drop off their taxes at the Air Mail Finance Unit – 6500 Air Cargo Rd until midnight.  To ensure the security of the mail, there will be no manual postmarking of tax mail at any location.  The Center City Station located at 305 NW 5th Street will have regular hours of operation on Tax day – 7:00am – 7:00pm.  “Tax mail, like all other collection mail will be processed through our Advanced Facer Canceller System machines which feature a Biohazard Detection System.  If we receive your tax mail by midnight you can rest assured that your mail will receive the April 18 postmark,” said Sean Walton, Acting Senior Plant Manager of the Oklahoma City Processing & Distribution Center.

The following Oklahoma City metro Post Offices have Self-Service Kiosks (SSK) that are available 24 hours – that includes Tax Day:

• Farley Station – 4025 W Reno Ave
• 39th Street Station – 3022 NW 39th St
• Hefner Station – 7800 W Henfer  Rd
• Midwest City Branch – 8275 E Reno Ave
• Moore Branch – 601 S Service Rd
• Penn 89 Station – 9201 S Pennsylvania
• Village Branch – 2304 W Hefner Rd
• Edmond Centennial Station – 801 W 33rd St
• Edmond Coffee Creek Station – 407 W Covell Rd
• Edmond Main Post Office – 200 N Broadway St
• Norman Main Post Office – 129 W Gray
• Norman Sooner Station – 200 36th Ave
• Yukon Post Office – 9000 S Garth Brooks Ave

At SSKs, customers can weigh letters and parcels and purchase stamps at the touch of a screen, using debit and credit cards.  Mailers are cautioned to check the collection times at SSKs and at collection boxes to make certain that mail deposited precedes the last posted collection time.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
