OKLAHOMA CITY, OK –  Effective Monday, April 30, 2018, at 4:30 p.m., operations at the Oklahoma City Southwest Station Post Office, located at 5701 S Agnew Ave., Oklahoma City, OK, will be temporarily relocated.

The lease for the Southwest Station facility will expire soon and the Postal Service does not plan to renew the lease.  The services offered at this location will be temporarily offered at the nearby Penn 89 Station Post Office, 9201 S. Pennsylvania Ave, while the Postal Service searches for an alternative site in close proximity to the Southwest Station location. The Postal Service apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

Starting Tuesday, May 1, 2018, P.O. Box and retail customers who formerly used the Southwest Station Post Office can access their P.O. Boxes and obtain retail services at the Penn 89 Station Post Office.  Window service hours at the new location are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and closed Sunday.  P.O. Box customers will have access to their boxes 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Customers with P.O. Boxes at the Southwest Station Post Office will soon receive letters providing detailed information on steps needed to ensure their mail service continues uninterrupted at the new location.  Customers do not need to take any action regarding their mailing address.  Their current P.O. Box numbers and ZIP Code 73144 will remain the same.  However, box holders from the Southwest Station location will need to obtain a new key for the Penn 89 Station location.  These keys will be available to the P.O. Box holder of record, with a government approved photo ID, beginning April 20, 2018, at the Southwest Station retail window during normal business hours.

Additionally, postal retail services are also available at the following nearby locations:

OKC Airport Mail Facility Retail Unit, 6500 Air Cargo Rd, Suite B, with window service hours Monday, Tuesday and Friday, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2 to 6 p.m.

Stockyards Station, 1101 S Agnew Ave., with window service hours Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Saturday and Sunday.

Southeast Oklahoma City, 4801 S I-35 Service Rd, with window service hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., closed Sunday.

Postal customers are reminded that the Post Office is always open at www.usps.com.

“The Postal Service sincerely appreciates our customers’ patience and understanding as we make this transition as smooth as possible,” said Postmaster James Bryant.  “We will continue to provide the best mail service possible to our customers.”

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
