In order to provide efficient and cost-effective mail delivery now and for the future, the U.S. Postal Service is creating a new ZIP Code in the Bend area, effective July 1, 2015. The new ZIP Code is 97703.

The new ZIP Code 97703 impacts some addresses in the current 97701 area
(Please see below for descriptions of the new ZIP Code boundaries as well as the attached map.)

Beginning today (Monday, May 18), all postal customers affected by these changes are being notified by mail. If a customer does not receive written notification within the next week, they are NOT affected by these changes.

The change comes as a result of the overall growth in mail deliveries that has accompanied population growth in this area.

The Postal Service encourages affected customers to use their new ZIP Code and notify family, friends, business customers and business associates beginning July 1; however, mail with either ZIP Code will be delivered for one year following the change. Individuals should include their new ZIP Code on any reply mail where the sender requests updated or corrected address information.

Customers in the affected area should also use their new ZIP Code when reordering stationery such as letterhead, envelopes, promotional literature, forms, and business cards.

No other action is necessary on customers’ part, as magazine publishers, financial institutions, insurance companies and utilities typically use computerized customer mailing lists, which update address ZIP Codes on a regular basis.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

Description of Boundaries for New ZIP Code 97703: Map

Northern Boundary: All deliveries north of and including NW Skyliners Road.

Western Boundary: All deliveries west of US Highway 97.
