CORBETT, Ore. — Post Offices in Corbett and Cascade Locks have reopened to customers for retail and P.O. Box mail services, U.S. Postal Service officials announced today.

Post Office locations in Corbett (36046 E. Historic Columbia River Hwy.) and Cascade Locks (461 NW Wanapa St.) had been closed for about two weeks because of law enforcement authorities’ evacuation orders resulting from the Eagle Creek Fire.

“We’re very happy to be open again and appreciate our customers’ continued patience and understanding,” Corbett Postmaster Christie Moon said today.

Bridal Veil postal customers may continue to pick up their mail at the Corbett Post Office until further notice, Moon said. Customers are asked to present photo identification to obtain their mail.

For the past two weeks, Corbett and Bridal Veil customers’ mail had been available for pickup at the Troutdale Post Office. Cascade Locks customers had been picking up mail at the Stevenson, WA, Post Office.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
