Background:

Officials from the U.S. Postal Service will host a renaming ceremony for the Pittston Post Office. The Pittston Post Office will be renamed in honor of Pennsylvania State Trooper Joshua D. Miller. Trooper Miller died in the line of duty on June 7, 2009.

The bill, sponsored by Congressman Lou Barletta (PA 11), signed into law by the president on June 5, 2012, will officially dedicate the postal facility located at 11 Dock Street as the Trooper Joshua D. Miller Post Office Building.

A special ceremony including elected and postal officials and friends will be held Wednesday, October 24 at 10 a.m. to unveil the official plaque to be displayed at the Pittston Post Office.
