PITTSBURGH, PA — The Falls City Market, located at 69 Main Street in Ohiopyle, joins a growing list on Tuesday, April 30, becoming the latest Village Post Office (VPO) in the Western PA District. The Village Post Office is part of the Postal Service’s initiative to provide communities with expanded access to postal products.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place Tuesday, April 30, at 9 a.m. at the Falls City Market VPO, 69 Main Street, Ohiopyle, PA 15470.
The Falls City Market Village Post Office - with operating hours Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. - offers sales of stamps and accepts pre-paid packages. The new VPO will also carry Expedited packaging (free Priority and Express Mail Flat-Rate boxes and envelopes) for added convenience in mailing packages.
Village Post Offices are operated by local businesses and offer popular products and services such as stamps and Flat-Rate packaging. The VPO concept was established in response to the changing mailing needs of the American consumer as more and more customers demand easier, more convenient access to Postal products and services where they are conducting business in their communities.
Western PA District Manager Robert Cintron will officiate the ribbon-cutting ceremony with assistance by Falls City Market proprietor Pamela Kruse.
