PITTSBURGH — The Flower Center store, located in the Clarion Mall in Clarion, joins a growing list on Friday, August 30, becoming the latest Village Post Office (VPO) in the Western PA District. The Village Post Office is part of the Postal Service’s initiative to provide communities with expanded access to postal products.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Friday, August 30, at 11 a.m. at the Flower Store, 22631 Route 68, Suite 440 (in the Clarion Mall), Clarion, PA 16214.

The Clarion Village Post Office - with operating hours Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. - offers sales of stamps and accepts pre-paid packages. The new VPO will also carry Expedited packaging (free Priority and Express Mail Flat-Rate boxes and envelopes) for added convenience in mailing packages. The Flower Store provides notary services, gifts, newspapers, lottery and food items.

Village Post Offices are operated by local businesses and offer popular products and services such as stamps and Flat-Rate packaging. The VPO concept was established in response to the changing mailing needs of the American consumer as more and more customers demand easier, more convenient access to Postal products and services where they are conducting business in their communities.

Western PA Post Office Operations Larry McClain will officiate the ribbon-cutting ceremony with assistance by Flower Store proprietor Lisa Smith.
